The Value for this term is:

Gaining confidence: Key Stage 1

In Key Stage 1 (5-7 years), the children experience a more formal broad and balanced curriculum. Our objective is to offer the tools and opportunities to nurture a strong desire to learn and explore. Homework is set regularly and includes reading, maths, literacy and topic work. Lessons are supported by specialist subject teachers, for example in sport, music and French. Children are given more opportunities to take on responsibilities for various tasks in the classroom. Examples include register monitors, assisting with preparation for a lesson and tidying up. Our classrooms are well resourced, offering a safe, exciting and stimulating environment for pupils to develop into independent learners.
