… time for the outside!
Many, many thanks to all the volunteers and donators, very ably led and co-ordinated by our governor Tuc Ahmad, who have so generously donated time and resources as we begin to turn our attention to our outdoor environment. Tuc and his volunteers, some parents, some local businesses and organisations, have cleared a huge amount of the invasive laurel and planted saplings donated by the Woodland Trust. The bank in the playground has been cleared ready to become a wildflower meadow, which will attract bees and other insects and wildlife into our grounds. New raised beds have been built and filled with earth ready for our gardening club and volunteers to cultivate with seeds and plants donated from a number of sources, to create fruit and vegetable beds and a sensory garden in our Foundation Stage outdoor learning environment. One of our very talented parents has built us the most fabulous story-telling chair in our forest with benches and additional seating on the way for the audience, which is a wonderfully versatile and exciting addition to our existing forest school provision. Outdoor learning at Badgemore is destined to become an outstanding feature of our constantly improving curriculum, contributing significantly to the wide range of engaging and exciting teaching and learning opportunities enjoyed by our children. Huge thanks to all of our supporters – we couldn’t have achieved so much without you.
