On Monday 6th July, ten chicken eggs were delivered to school and we were all very excited. To begin with, the eggs were perfectly still and nothing seemed to be happening. We had to keep the eggs in an incubator to keep them warm, just like it would be in their natural habitat – under mother hen’s bottom.
Excitedly, we all watched the incubator and, throughout the day, things started to happen. We saw cracks emerge and, when we listened carefully, we heard cheeping and chirping from inside the shells. It was incredible.
