How Has Our Children’s Writing Improved So Dramatically?

The expectation from the government on children’s writing has increased significantly in the last few years and we’re pleased to report that the Badgemore children’s writing has improved too. Last year, we achieved our highest  Year 6 writing results ever!

How has this been achieved?

The improvement revolves around giving the children a purpose for their writing and an audience. This has mainly been achieved through our relationship with The Henley Herald. The Online paper was set-up by Michaela Clarke as a community newspaper that the people of Henley contribute to with local stories. Badgemore now actively encourage the children to contribute with school and personal stories. Writing a newspaper article that will be read by up to 10,000 motivates children to produce their very best work. Here are some examples of our published articles from this academic year:
