Dale the Snail
On Tuesday after school, Dale the snail arrived in an ice-cream tub. We wanted to call him Dale because we like spotting rhymes.
Last week, we began investigating different habitats as part of our science work and we thought that having a class pet would be helpful. Dale is a Giant African Land Snail and he originally comes from a very warm climate. He is not from Europe, he is from Africa which is a much warmer continent than ours because it is closer to the equator. So, this means that Dale needs a special heat mat in his tank to keep it a comfortable temperature. By making his artificial habitat similar to his natural habitat he is more likely to survive.
So far, Dale has been quite shy, spending most of his time sleeping and relaxing in his shell.
