Badgemore’s Happiness Heroes Help School Gain Mental Wellbeing Accreditation
Badgemore School have been awarded the My Happy Mind Bronze accreditation, an NHS England backed programme which helps the mental wellbeing of children.
The school uses the programme as part of their PHSE lessons and has five themes; understanding how your brain works, your unique character strengths and learning to celebrate them, why gratitude matters, why positive relationships matter and how to build them and how to set meaningful goals that matter and how to keep resilient in times of challenge.
Each class has elected two Happiness Heroes to promote the My Happy Mind programme. The Happiness Heroes have all been given a special badge to wear and the school are organising some new high vis vests for the children to wear at break times so that other children can easily recognise them and seek their support if needed. The programme also has a Parent App, which offers activities and games the children can do at home to reinforce everything their children are learning at school. Each class has a habit agreement for their class that they sign as well as an attitude and gratitude sign to remind the children.
