PE & Sport
PE and Sports funding
Physical Education (PE) is a statutory requirement of the National Curriculum; the aims of the revised National Curriculum with regard to PE are to ensure that all pupils:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- are physically active for sustained periods of time
- engage in competitive sports and activities
- lead healthy, active lives.
The Department for Education (DfE) in conjunction with the Department for Media, Culture and Sport provide additional funding for schools to deliver high-quality PE provision to pupils. At Badgemore, our aim is to provide our staff and pupils with access to high-quality coaching and support to ensure our PE provision is excellent and to enhance the engagement and enjoyment of PE for all of our pupils. This year we will continue to provide training and support for staff and pupils and we hope to participate in competitive and non-competitive sports again which we access through the Henley Partnership of Schools. We will continue to provide a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities for pupils.
