Star Performance
On Saturday, I took part in the Henley youth festival cross country run. When I arrived I saw lots of people from many different schools. I was very excited! The year 1 and 2 girls had to go for the warm up. We did exercises with the people from the gym at the Henley rugby club. Then we went to the line and the race started. I took the lead for a long time and didn’t even stop up a massive hill. Right at the end a girl from Shiplake pipped me at the post, but I was very proud of myself because I came second place in the race. I can’t wait for...

What a wonderful morning Badgemore children and parents had at the Henley Youth Festival Race on Saturday morning. All children pushed themselves to the limit and ran exceptionally well. Notable results included Zara and Ernie (both year 1) who came forth and fifth respectively out of 30 in their year 1 and 2 race; Lucas who came second in the year 3 and 4 race and Nicolai who came second in the year 5 and 6 race. One event reminded me who ‘we’ are: This is Badgemore. One of our children struggles to complete his race and the rest...

On Tuesday 28th June, Cedar Class (and Ines) walked to Gillotts to participate in the annual Outdoor Athletics competition. Valley Road and Sacred Heart joined us on a cool afternoon in Henley. The format for this year’s event had changed slightly to promote participation, so all children were given an opportunity to participate in any event they wished to try. This had an amazing freeing effect on the Badgemore children who showed confidence and resilience to try as many sports as they could. Some particular highlights include Ciara...

Something for everyone … … in our sports taster day, hosted by Premier Sports, who brought fencing, golf and archery to Badgemore and really opened our eyes to the different types of sport we can enjoy in school. For me, the highlight was watching our KS1 children fencing, wearing all the right gear and looking so poised and elegant – they loved it, and we are pleased to welcome Premier Sports to school on a regular basis, working alongside staff during PE lessons and providing some extra-curricular sports clubs before the...
