Our ethos, vision and values
Our overriding aim at Badgemore is to provide a nurturing ethos within which children and adults feel valued and supported to achieve their potential. In 2015 parents, governors and staff adopted a set of values which they felt were particularly relevant to children at Badgemore. These values now form the basis for curriculum development and for all teaching and learning opportunities; values are taught both directly and discreetly and are modelled and demonstrated by staff and pupils alike.
Badgemore Primary School seeks to develop the potential in every pupil, working in partnership with parents at every opportunity. At Badgemore our values-based curriculum inspires, motivates and nurtures children to strive for excellence, both academically and personally, and to participate happily in and contribute confidently to life in 21st century Britain.
Badgemore Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Our Designated Protection Officer (DPO) is Jacky Steele, Headteacher. The deputy DPO is Emilie Mason, SENCo.
