Meghan’s Poem

The Tortoise

A Tortoise lives next to us

with its great big and bumpy shell.

It crawls in through the garden gate,

it makes us all unwell.

When we have a shower,

he’s always in there first,

Nothing else is worse than

the big and giant tortoise!

We have a tortoise living next to us,

the mean and greedy thing,

he ate all our cabbages

and once our garden swing.

He paces at midnight shouting,

waking us all up,

the mean and greedy tortoise,

waking us all up!

We have a tortoise living next next to us,

he’s such a murderous thing,

once he murdered Aunt Betty,

the loveliest of the twins,

and now we’re with the tortoise,

afraid of his gun and all,

nothing else is worse than the big and giant Tortoise!
