Meeting Michael Morpurgo

On Thursday morning, Rowan and Cedar Class walked, in the sunshine, to the Christ Church Centre to meet Michael Morpurgo at the Henley Literary Festival.

Along with lots of other children, we sat and listened to the many tips and tales that the inspirational fictional writer had to offer. He referred to himself as a ‘story thief’ telling us that many of his stories are influenced by tales and experiences that people tell him.

Morpurgo – The Magpie!

Luckily, we were able ask the author a few questions including ‘who was your favourite author as a child?’ and ‘what was the name of the first book that you ever wrote?’

After answering a mass of questions, we all posed for a photo (which will be added very soon) and walked back up to school for lunch. What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday morning!
