Henley Youth Festival 2016

What a time we had …

I know it was busy, I know there was confusion and forgotten lunches, and I know there were miles walked between venues – but what a fabulous couple of weeks we had!  This year we absolutely made the most of Henley Youth Festival, getting involved wherever we could, including hosting several events for other schools in our fabulous new school hall – which, I might add, was widely praised and possibly even envied by some!  Over the week our children danced, drummed, sang, squashed, made and listened to music, enjoyed Shakespeare, made masks – I could go on, but I’m sure you get the picture.  We started the party by making carnival masks and ended it with a performance in the Kenton Theatre, led by the remarkable Randolph Matthews, in which our Year 4, 5 and 6 children did us proud with some truly excellent singing.  We are very lucky to have such fabulous opportunities right on our doorstep which really add colour and creativity to our curriculum – thanks to everyone who plays a part in organising such a busy event, and to our parents for keeping up with it all!
