Parents’ Evening is next Tuesday, so I would like you to reflect on this term and share your thoughts on the following areas (please write full sentences with appropriate punctuation):
- Describe your progress to date academically
- Describe your progress to date mentally
- Identify one particular event you are proud and explain what makes you proud
- Identify one particular area that you need to work on and improve
Can you think laterally to solve these two questions?
Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected robber. They don’t know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they’ve got their man?
A man and his son are in a car accident. The father is seriously injured and passes away. The child is taken to hospital with a shocking leg injury. When he gets there, the surgeon says, ‘I can’t operate on this boy – for he is my son!!!’ How can this possibly be?
