The transformation at Badgemore over the last five years has been incredible! We are proud to have received two ‘Good’ Ofsteds and our pupil numbers are increasing. One of the areas we are particularly proud of is the development in our beautiful natural surroundings. It has taken a committed group of parents, children and staff, but we are getting there slowly. Here are some pictures to show just what a difference slow and steady progress makes to our school grounds over time. Before (December 2015) After (January 2020) Before...

Congratulations to this week’s Star Award Winners who enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies with the Headteacher today. This term teachers are looking for children displaying our value of the term, respect, or someone who is demonstrating a growth mindset. Growth mindset is about recognising that we can develop our skills through hard work and resilience. During this process, and in life itself, we often fail and it is during this time when we learn the most. If we do not fail, we are not challenging ourselves enough!

The bees have been busy all summer collecting the pollen and making honey. Now there are only a few weeks left before the children of Badgemore share some of the delicious honey. The Bee Team have agreed to process the honey at the beginning of October or when the summer finishes and the cooler weather sets in. In the meantime, we would like to invite anyone from our community to visit the hives on Wednesdays from 3:15 until 4pm. Bee suits are provided and we simply ask that boots are worn to protect your feet. Please sign up in the office if...

Our week of learning about the Internet and how to keep safe culminated today in an community assembly presented (and organised) by the children. Laurel Class (EYFS and Year 1) presented information on what the Internet is shared their pictures: Dakota and Erin shared afterwards that they had learnt that the Internet is more than a billion computers linked together. Lisa, a Laurel Class parent, added that she had not know that the Internet was not owned by anyone and therefore no one monitored it or controlled what was uploaded – scary!...

There will be lots of incentives such as stickers, team points and badges for all those children who participate on at least one day. Thank you for all your efforts As part of our topic, ‘Can We Make A Difference?’ we held a Plastic-Free Lunch Day today. A plastic-free lunch is a lunchbox where no plastic has been used to wrap the food. We suggest that a lunchbox with compartments or greaseproof paper is used instead. Update: The benefits to a plastic-free lunchbox is a reduction in the amount of waste sent to the landfill. Plastic takes up to 1,000 years to decompose. Each child will...
