This afternoon, Laurel Class were lucky enough to be taken on an ‘access all areas tour’ of Henley’s very own Kenton Theatre. As our whole school topic is ‘All the World’s a Stage’ we couldn’t resist taking a look around our local theatre.
We were shown around by Steve, who has worked at the theatre for over five years. He was very knowledgeable and he answered all of our questions… and we had lots and lots of them (Mrs R was very impressed)!!
We sat up in the gods and then down on the front row. After that, we stepped onto the stage and then we had the opportunity to go behind the scenes. We saw where the props are stored, made and recycled. There were lots of tools and paints which told us all that it’s a very creative and crafty area. Later on, we nipped upstairs to have a sneaky peek inside the largest of the four dressing rooms.
We had a great afternoon and it was a fabulous insight into what really goes on in a real life theatre.
